I recently read AN INTERVIEW with Dita Von Teese wherein she talks about feeling sexy. I love Dita and she made a few really good points so I thought I would share some of them here and also like to add a few of my own.
How to Feel Sexy in 3 Simple Steps
STEP 1
Dita is huge on the concept of feeling sexy for yourself and I couldn’t agree more with her.
“Seduction is at its finest when it’s nonchalant. You have to make him believe that you just are that way. So when you think, ‘I’m going to try some garter belts on for him, and I think he’ll like this color,’ you’ve missed the whole point. But if you’re indulging in things that make you feel good about yourself, and that are also beautiful and luxurious and fit you well–things that you would wear every day whether or not someone’s looking–that’s when it becomes natural and effortless. And that’s when you really get him where it hurts.”
STEP 2
Fake it ’til you make it. I am not kidding, it is a scientific fact that your body produces extra testosterone and cortisol levels when you pretend being confident which in turn makes you confident. It’s bizarro but check out this Ted Talk by Amy Cuddy, she really delves into it.
STEP 3
Find your “thing”. For Dita, her go to sexy beauty booster is red lipstick.
“I don’t leave the house without a swipe of red lipstick, but I don’t spend a lot of time getting ready either. I can get out the door in five minutes, and that red lipstick gives me the power to look polished. I wear super velvety matte lipsticks, like MAC’s Ruby Woo and Lady Danger. They make for the most kiss-proof, food-proof lip.”
For me, my “thing” is high heels, they are an instant statement piece with instant sex appeal. I feel so powerful and #boss. Your “thing” can be anything like your favourite dress, sexy tank, jeans… There are so many options you just have to find yours.
